About Me
As part of the Universidad Ana G. Mendez consortium for administrating the Arecibo Radio Telescope, my team supported the administrative data network of this scientific sites. We observe the higher standard in IT best practices.
I am from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, a USA territory. I have been always loved the tropical paradise of my island. Since very young I have been working, starting in a local hardware store and a groceries store. I lived more than half of my life in the metropolitan area of Puerto Rico. When I got married, I moved to the Caguas City where I started the adventure of having a loving family.
One of my passion is to explore my island (internal truism) and to travel to foreign countries. I liked vacations that include exploring locals’ culture. So far, I have visited 26 countries and hoping to include more in the future.
The center of my life if the family, all my hard work is dedicated to them. All my plans involve need to have my family in mind. I am a proud father of a son and a daughter.
I always loved technology as I see then as a tool of communication and decision making. Since I was a child I started repairing computers and mounting my own clone computers. I remember that my first personal computer, a gift from my father was a Tandy with a EGA (16 colors) graphics display running MS 3.0. My first internet connection was a dial up connection of 14.4kb speed. For me it was a great technology achievement to be able to communicate with the telephone line.
One of the qualities that best describe me is the need to help the needed one. I have invested many hours in my life with volunteer work. Also, I dedicated time in social benefits activities. Knowing that I live on an Island that is vulnerable to both hurricane and earthquake threats, I have been certified as a first responder brigades, in order to assist in an event of a catastrophe.
